About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pediatric Critical Care Specialist to join our team at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. As a Transport Medicine Fellow, you will play a crucial role in the stabilisation and transportation of critically ill and injured children to intensive care facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of a transport to ensure a safe, efficient, and cohesive transfer from the referring centre to the accepting intensive care unit.
- Give advice at the initial referral call; coordinate the transport; stabilise the patient and ensure continuity of intensive care during the transfer.
- Take an interest in the organisational aspects of transport medicine, including audit, quality assurance projects, presentation at transport forums and research in subjects pertaining to retrieval medicine and paediatric intensive care.
Requirements
- Primary medical qualification - MBBS or equivalent.
- Full GMC registration (obtained by designated start date).
- MRCP, MRCPCH or equivalent.
- Accredited to The Royal Colleges of Paediatrics and Child Health and/or Anaesthesia or equivalent.
