Swindon, Swindon, United Kingdom Swindon Borough Council Full time

At Swindon Borough Council, we strive to create a thriving community where everyone can prosper. Our ambitious vision for the town's future is driven by practical transformation programs that put the needs of our residents at their core. As part of our team, you'll contribute to a dynamic local authority that makes informed decisions with real impact, ultimately leading to better public services and improved quality of life for all.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support our 24/7 emergency response service, which caters to over 4,500 elderly and vulnerable residents across the borough. We're seeking dedicated individuals to join our busy team on a rota basis, working weekends and unsociable hours, with an additional allowance for this flexibility.

Your key responsibilities will include responding to calls and coordinating emergency responses for elderly, special needs, and chronically sick clients, while providing efficient service delivery. Additionally, you'll meet with new service users and perform routine maintenance on our community alarm system. To excel in this role, you should possess significant experience in dealing with the public, particularly the elderly and those with special needs. Proficiency in IT skills would be advantageous, although training will be provided. You must be fluent in English, as mandated by Part 7 of the Immigration Act for effective performance in customer-facing roles, and hold a full driving license for manually operated vehicles, with access to a vehicle.

As an employee, you'll benefit from a diverse and stimulating work environment that encourages creativity and innovation, while also prioritizing ongoing personal development and a flexible work-life balance. For Swindon to thrive in the future, we're laying the groundwork now through our regeneration and transformation programs.

We invite applications from a diverse range of communities, with a particular focus on disabled people and those from ethnic minorities. Please read our statement of commitment to equality and inclusion.

The estimated salary for this position is £25,000 - £32,000 per annum, based on the level of responsibility and location. This role presents an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents while developing your skills and expertise.
