Job Purpose:

To underwrite and manage all facets of the Casualty Direct Binders account, ensuring compliance with business plans and risk control frameworks.

Detailed Duties:
  • Underwrite authorised classes of business in accordance with the business plan, ensuring optimal return on capital.
  • Manage underwriting files to ensure effective peer review and query response within agreed SLAs.
  • Liaise closely with the internal Claims Department and/or external claims adjusters as required.
  • Assess loss ratio analysis for individual accounts and ensure underwriting files are of sufficient standard.
  • Ensure compliance with broker security requirements, Lloyds licensing requirements, and assist with sanctions checks.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Underwrite within agreed risk control frameworks, including individual risk limits and aggregate limits.
  • Attend the box within Lloyd's during underwriting hours.
  • Ensure the Technical Premium and Rate Movement is entered for every risk.
Requirements:
  • Strong underwriting skills and knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
