Academics Ltd is seeking an experienced Student Support Specialist to join their team. As a Learning Mentor, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a Chester-based school.

About the Role

This SEN-focused position involves providing one-on-one support to students with diverse needs, including specific learning difficulties and behavioral challenges. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to develop personalized learning plans, promote student progress, and create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities
  • Providing tailored support to students with SEN, including those with specific learning difficulties or emotional needs.
  • Developing and implementing effective learning plans to address individual students' needs.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and other professionals to foster a collaborative and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitoring student progress and evaluating the success of interventions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience working with students with SEN in a school setting.
  • Sound knowledge of various SEN conditions and strategies for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Adaptability and resilience in responding to the unique challenges of a SEN environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, ensuring effective execution of individual plans.

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
