About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Science and Risk Management Specialist to join our team at Howden Group Holdings. In this exciting role, you will play a key part in driving our approach to the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of quantitative information.
As a Data Science and Risk Management Specialist, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data collection methods, conducting surveys, performing stochastic modelling and analysis, and ensuring thorough testing and reporting using advanced mathematical and statistical tools.
Your leadership will be essential in shaping our data-driven strategies and delivering insightful risk assessments. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data collection methods, conduct surveys, and perform stochastic modelling and analysis
- Ensure thorough testing and reporting using advanced mathematical and statistical tools
- Shape our data-driven strategies and deliver insightful risk assessments
- Lead analytical initiatives and drive impactful change in a dynamic and innovative environment
Requirements
- At least a 2:1 degree in statistics, applied mathematics, or other equivalent qualification
- Demonstrable experience in a professional setting, either public or private sector
- Excellent knowledge of open and licensed statistical packages and languages, such as SPSS, R, SciPy, ROOT, Pandas, MATLAB, Octave, and GAUSS
- Proficient programming skills, such as Python
- Project management experience or certification
- Understanding of risk management, disaster risk reduction, and macro-economics
