Job Title: Category Manager

Job Overview

The Venn Group is seeking a commercially-minded and strategic procurement professional to join their team as a Category Manager. This is a key driver of value for the NHS and wider public sector through delivering projects, frameworks, and calling off procurements for customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhance procurement services and explore new commercial opportunities
  • Maintain client relationships through high-quality service
  • Ensure value-for-money sourcing solutions and monitor contracts
  • Secure cash and efficiency savings to improve patient outcomes
  • Support sourcing, procurement, and contract management projects
  • Track savings and quality improvements
  • Use tools for project management, contract management, spend analysis, and benefits tracking
  • Report data with presentations, charts, and pivot tables
  • Manage complex procurement activities from planning to contract award
  • Produce and upload tender documents
  • Develop contract renewal workplans
  • Coordinate contract compliance across member Trusts
  • Ensure consistency and transparency in projects and evaluations
  • Update and share knowledge with colleagues
  • Travel to maintain stakeholder contact
  • Conduct market research to support strategic sourcing
  • Analyze procurement projects and budget impacts for Trusts

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • CIPS qualified, studying, or equivalent experience
  • Degree, or equivalent qualifications/experience
  • Functional procurement experience with best practice in category management
  • Relevant Category Services procurement experience with a history of successful delivery
  • NHS/Public Sector experience with knowledge of UK and EU procurement legislation
