About the Role

Venn Group is seeking a commercially minded, dynamic, and strategic procurement professional to join their team as a Category Manager. This is a strategic role that will be a key driver of value for the NHS and wider public sector through delivering projects, frameworks, and calling off procurements for customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Enhance Procurement Services: Explore new commercial opportunities to drive value and efficiency savings.
  • Maintain Client Relationships: Build effective relationships with internal and external customers, understanding their needs and delivering successful outcomes.
  • Ensure Value-for-Money Sourcing Solutions: Monitor contracts and ensure compliance with procurement regulations.
  • Secure Cash and Efficiency Savings: Improve patient outcomes by securing cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Support Sourcing, Procurement, and Contract Management Projects: Collaborate with Specialist and Lead Category Managers to achieve cost and efficiency savings for customer trusts.
  • Track Savings and Quality Improvements: Use tools for project management, contract management, spend analysis, and benefits tracking.
  • Report Data with Presentations, Charts, and Pivot Tables: Provide data-driven insights to stakeholders.
  • Manage Complex Procurement Activities: Plan, execute, and manage procurement activities from planning to contract award.
  • Produce and Upload Tender Documents: Develop and manage tender documents for procurement projects.
  • Develop Contract Renewal Workplans: Create and implement contract renewal workplans to ensure continuity of services.
  • Coordinate Contract Compliance: Ensure consistency and transparency in projects and evaluations.
  • Update and Share Knowledge: Share knowledge and best practices with colleagues.
  • Travel to Maintain Stakeholder Contact: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders through regular travel.
  • Conduct Market Research: Support strategic sourcing by conducting market research and analysis.
  • Analyze Procurement Projects and Budget Impacts: Provide data-driven insights on procurement projects and budget impacts.
Requirements
  • CIPS Qualified: Hold a CIPS qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Degree or Equivalent Qualifications/Experience: Possess a degree or equivalent qualifications/experience.
  • Functional Procurement Experience: Have functional procurement experience with best practice in category management.
  • Relevant Category Services Procurement Experience: Have relevant category services procurement experience with a history of successful delivery.
  • NHS/Public Sector Experience: Have NHS/public sector experience with knowledge of UK and EU procurement legislation.
