Job Title: Commis Chef

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our dynamic team at St. Margaret's School in Bushey. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with our culinary team to create delicious and nutritious meals that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.
  • Assist in menu planning and development, taking into account dietary restrictions, nutritional guidelines, and seasonal ingredients.
  • Oversee stock control and ordering to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize waste.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, culinary techniques, and new ingredients to enhance our menu offerings and overall dining experience.
  • Foster a positive working environment by demonstrating leadership qualities, effective communication, and teamwork.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working in a similar role within a contract catering company or educational institution is preferred.
  • Culinary degree or relevant certifications from a recognized culinary institute.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
