We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Environmental Scientist to join our team in Sittingbourne, Kent. As an Environmental Scientist, you will play a key role in supporting our work in Environmental Claims, dealing with land-based oil spills and other incidents.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct Phase I and Phase II site investigations to identify potential environmental hazards.
- Collect and analyze soil and groundwater samples to determine the extent of contamination.
- Supervise excavations and ensure compliance with Company health and safety protocols.
- Prepare and send samples to accredited laboratories for analysis.
- Assist in the preparation of Health and Safety documentation for site works.
- Conduct remediation site inspections to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Liaise with contractors to ensure timely and effective completion of projects.
- Operate scientific equipment to collect and analyze data.
Office-based duties will include updating project records, preparing reports, and assisting with maintenance of stores. The successful candidate will have a degree in an environment/land-related subject and excellent literacy and reporting skills. A flexible attitude to work and the ability to work as an effective member of a team are essential. A full UK/EC driving licence is also required.
