Role Overview

Eclipse Properties Ltd is a leading provider of supported tenancies for young people. We are seeking an experienced and caring Support Worker Specialist to join our team in Gloucester.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting vulnerable young people, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people. As a Support Worker Specialist, you will be responsible for providing daily support to up to 6 unaccompanied asylum seeker children in their homes. Your duties will include assisting with independence skills, household chores, and educational work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to young people with independence skills and household chores
  • Deliver the independence support plan
  • Complete daily paperwork and reports online
  • Ensure the property is in order and report any issues to management
  • Assist young people with cooking meals and cleaning up after themselves
  • Assist with educational work and appointments with external agencies

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • NVQ (QCF) Level 3 (or above) in Health & Social Care
  • Minimum of 12 months experience working with vulnerable young people
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • A current DBS check
  • Full clean, UK driving licence
  • IT literacy - MS Office
  • Excellent communication, organisation and report writing skills
  • A flexible, empathic, supportive attitude

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 per annum, plus benefits including a rota devised in advance and 7 days off per month. This role is offered on a self-employed basis, and successful candidates will need to provide proof of HMRC UTR Number, Liability Insurance, and National Insurance Number.
