About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Welding Coordinator and Quality Assurance Manager to join our team at On Line Group. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, where you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality standards in welding operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the implementation of BS EN 3834 and BS EN 1090 accreditations, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Review and update welding quality manuals, ensuring they align with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Support external audits, providing expert knowledge on welding procedures and quality control measures.
  • Ensure all welding activities are performed in accordance with established standards and project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain welding procedures in line with relevant codes and standards, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Qualify and maintain welder qualifications in accordance with industry regulations.
  • Identify the need for new PQRs (Procedure Qualification Records) as per project requirements, facilitating efficient production.
  • Review client and contract documentation to ensure necessary records and forms are maintained, meeting contractual obligations.
  • Conduct customer reviews and technical assessments for projects, guaranteeing high-quality outcomes.
  • Prepare data books for clients, detailing project progress and quality assurance measures.
  • Create and implement Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) according to project requirements, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Liaise with clients, customers, and subcontractors on technical matters, fostering effective communication.
  • Review client quality plans, ensuring alignment with company policies and industry standards.
  • Audit welders to ensure compliance with quality control measures and company policies.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 accreditation, ensuring excellence in quality management.
  • Participate in internal and external audits, providing expertise on quality assurance practices.
  • Review and update the quality manual, ensuring it reflects company policies and industry best practices.
  • Ensure all work activities align with established standards and project requirements.
  • Support the main quality lead in all quality matters, collaborating to achieve excellence.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 accreditations, upholding environmental and occupational health and safety standards.
  • Lead monthly EHS meetings, fostering a culture of safety and sustainability.
  • Lead quarterly management review EHS meetings, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR to manage training requirements, ensuring employees have the necessary skills to excel.
  • Perform site visits as required, assessing project progress and quality assurance measures.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must possess:

  • Knowledge of current legislation and regulations governing welding operations.
  • Proficiency in IT, with excellent Excel and Microsoft Office application skills.
  • An ability to adapt to changing situations and working methods, embracing innovation and improvement.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills, enabling collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to analyze issues using root cause analysis techniques.

Professional Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should hold:

  • T IOSHH Qualification, demonstrating a commitment to occupational health and safety.
  • HND/HNC Level qualification or equivalent, reflecting strong technical knowledge.
  • At least 5 years' experience as a Welding Coordinator/QC Officer, with a proven track record of success.

Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a range of benefits, including:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • 8am – 4.30pm working hours.
