Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Laboratory Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team in the Laboratory Medicine department at Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for providing support in various laboratory settings, including the Specimen Reception area and specialist areas such as Point of Care Testing.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and possess a strong interest in science. With full training provided, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and competencies in all relevant areas of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the reception and processing of specimens in the Blood Sciences laboratory
  • Support laboratory staff in various areas, including Point of Care Testing and specialist teams
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • GCSE English or equivalent
  • GCSE Maths or equivalent
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Previous experience working in a laboratory environment (desirable)
