Health and Safety Manager - Energy Sector (DNO)

We are seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Blue Oak Recruitment. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the consistent application of health, safety, and environmental standards across our operations, with a focus on remote teams working in challenging and high-risk environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits, including remote and rural locations, to identify potential hazards and ensure adherence to protocols.
  • Lead incident investigations, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences, and provide ongoing training and support to employees on best practices for health, safety, and environmental management.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field teams to integrate health and safety considerations into project planning and execution, ensuring safety remains a top priority.
  • Prepare and present regular health and safety performance reports to senior management and stakeholders, keeping them informed on key metrics and progress.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in health and safety management, particularly in the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) and energy utilities industries.
  • Strong background in risk management, with a focus on remote work, rural hazards, and unique challenges posed by working in close proximity to power lines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
