Job Title: Aerospace Safety Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aerospace Safety Manager to join our team at Serco. As a key member of our Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality, competent, and specialist HS&E support to the site, delivering a service in accordance with our Service Level Agreement.
  • Work alongside other HS&E team members, providing regulatory guidance and functional leadership in the selected part of the business.
  • Support the business to achieve performance improvements and lead industry sector best practice forums.
  • Enhance our reputation and ensure HS&E compliance with Serco Group, Divisional, and key regulatory requirements.
  • Lead on the design and implementation of a risk-based training schedule and HS&E Management Assurance plan.
  • Deliver a robust reporting process for predictive assessment of potential health, safety, and environmental related failures.
Requirements:
  • Belong to a related professional organisation at an appropriate level, preferably as a graduate or chartered member of IOSH (or equivalent).
  • Experience in operating within regulated workplace environments and an appropriate qualification in Fire Risk Assessment/Management is required.
  • Manage workload and prioritise according to risk.
  • Familiarity with HS&E management policies, standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Support local Operational staff in developing and maintaining HS&E controls.
  • Liaise with local customers and third-party organisations as necessary.
  • Deliver timely management information and reports on relevant HS&E activities to Contract Management and Operational Managers.
  • Monitor performance and encourage the delivery of strategic objectives and targets.
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of all HS&E incidents, accidents, and data into enterprise applications.
  • Provide feedback on service performance to the BU HS&E Director or lead.
  • Coordinate compliance audits on nominated sites per the agreed risk-based audit plan.
