Transport Operations Manager

Meatex Trading Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Transport Controller to oversee and manage the transport activities at our Enfield site. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the Head of Logistics and ensure the smooth operation of the Enfield transport office.
Key Responsibilities:- Transport Operations: Oversee planned routes, maintain fleet efficiency and safety, and ensure compliance with the Road Transport Directive and other legislation.
- Communication: Facilitate excellent communication with the driver team, arrange and plan essential fleet maintenance to minimize downtime, and ensure safe operations in collaboration with our fleet providers.
- Team Management: Control all transport team activities, including recruitment, disciplinary actions, holiday bookings, absence management, rota preparation, and handling pay and bonus issues.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Monitor clocking reports to ensure all transport staff clock in and out daily, collate and monitor working hours, and provide statistical data to ensure compliance with legislation.
- KPIs and Performance: Compile, agree, and monitor practical and measurable KPIs for the site's transport operation, and control, monitor, and report on tray reconciliation for the Enfield site.
- Training and Development: Identify and deliver training needs within the transport operation, ensuring all staff complete required IHASCO training, and ensure health and safety compliance for workplace and off-site transport activities.
- Administrative Tasks: Manage holiday requests for the Enfield transport department, update the People Hub daily, and ensure all annual holidays are taken by year-end.
- Experience: Extensive experience supervising a busy transport operation (preferably multi-temperature food transport).
- Leadership Skills: High-quality leadership skills and effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Geographic Knowledge: Good solid geographic knowledge of the UK, especially London and the Southeast.
- Technical Skills: Good knowledge of MS Office (including Outlook, Excel, and Word) essential.
