Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the transport activities at our Enfield site, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of routes, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and control the fleet's maintenance schedule, minimizing downtime and ensuring the highest level of vehicle safety.
  • Collaborate with our fleet providers to ensure seamless operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Conduct regular debriefs with drivers, reviewing their performance and providing feedback for improvement.
  • Manage the transport team's activities, including recruitment, disciplinary actions, holiday bookings, absence management, and pay and bonus issues.
  • Monitor clocking reports to ensure all transport staff are clocking in and out daily.
  • Compile and monitor working hours, providing statistical data to ensure compliance with the Road Transport Directive and other legislation.
  • Develop and implement practical and measurable KPIs for the site's transport operation.
  • Control, monitor, and report on tray reconciliation for the Enfield site, accounting for trays left at customers and sent to Derby.
  • Conduct driving licence checks twice annually using the government portal and hard copy of the licence.
  • Identify and deliver training needs within the transport operation, ensuring all staff complete required IHASCO training.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance for workplace and off-site transport activities, including completing risk assessments.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience supervising a busy transport operation (preferably multi-temperature food transport).
  • High-quality leadership skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office (including Outlook, Excel, and Word) essential.
  • Good solid geographic knowledge of the UK, especially London and the Southeast.
