We are seeking an accomplished Executive Chef to join our team at The Red Lion in Water End, a picturesque village in rural Hertfordshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef with a passion for delivering exceptional cuisine and providing outstanding customer service.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a similar kitchen environment, with a proven track record of producing high-quality dishes using sustainable, seasonal ingredients. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for running your own section, ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement menus that showcase our Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations
  • Lead and motivate a team of chefs, providing guidance and support to ensure excellent teamwork and communication
  • Monitor inventory levels, manage stock control, and optimize supply chain logistics to minimize waste and reduce costs
  • Collaborate with the restaurant manager to develop marketing strategies and promotions that drive sales and increase revenue

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a senior chef in a busy kitchen environment
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
  • Degree or diploma in culinary arts or a related field (desirable)
