About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Clinical Support Assistant to join our team at Northampton General Hospital. As a Clinical Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients and medical staff during clinics and other healthcare activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist medical and clinical staff during clinics and on wards, including ITU.
  • Prepare clinic rooms and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Record patient data as directed by medical staff.
  • Transport portable equipment as required.
  • Assist patients with limited mobility and provide basic hygiene support.
  • Organise and maintain consumable stock levels.
  • Participate in departmental audits and service reviews.

Person Specification

  • GCSEs grade C level or equivalent in English, Maths, and Science.
  • Experience of working with patients and knowledge of infection prevention in healthcare.
  • Strong verbal and written English, with high accuracy and IT literacy.
  • Ability to exert physical effort and work under emotional pressures.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated, with a high degree of empathy.
