Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to join our team as a Clinical Support Assistant. This role involves providing exceptional patient care and support to patients and their families in a busy clinical environment.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist medical and clinical staff during clinics and on wards, including ITU.
  • Prepare clinic rooms and equipment for patient use.
  • Record patient data as directed by medical staff.
  • Transport portable equipment to wards as required.
  • Assist patients with limited mobility using correct procedures and equipment.
  • Support patients with basic hygiene needs.
  • Organise and maintain consumable stock levels.
  • Maintain levels of laundry and pharmacy items and liaise with these departments to ensure consistent supplies.
  • Carry out infection control procedures on clinic rooms and equipment on a regular basis.
  • Maintain the waiting room facilities and ensure they are clean and safe for all users.
  • Participate in departmental audits and service reviews.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • GCSEs grade C level with minimum 4 GCSEs to include English, Maths, and Science or equivalent level of education, training, or experience.
    • Experience of working with patients, patient handling, and moving.
    • Knowledge of infection prevention in healthcare.
  • Desirable:
    • NVQ level 2 patient care.
    • Experience of working with children, the elderly, and people with special needs.
    • Experience of working in a diagnostic department.
