Role Summary

We are looking for a Major Gifts Officer to join our team in the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in major gifts fundraising and a passion for making a difference in the lives of women and children affected by domestic abuse.

About the Team

Our team is dedicated to raising funds to support our work with women and children experiencing domestic abuse. We work collaboratively to develop and implement fundraising strategies, build relationships with donors and stakeholders, and secure significant income from individuals, trusts, and foundations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain relationships with key donors and stakeholders, including regular communication and reporting
  • Research and identify new opportunities for major gifts fundraising, including prospects and potential partners
  • Write compelling proposals and reports to secure funding from major donors
  • Represent the organization externally at events and meetings
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of fundraising strategies to secure significant income from individuals, trusts, and foundations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record of major gifts fundraising success, including securing significant income from individuals, trusts, and foundations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with donors, colleagues, and other stakeholders
  • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities for major gifts fundraising
  • A deep understanding of the charity sector and the role of major gifts fundraising in supporting charitable causes
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £33,188 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting. Refuge offers a range of benefits, including flexible working hours, a supportive and collaborative team environment, and opportunities for professional development and growth.
