About the Role

The Specialist Midwife for Professional Development in Maternal Medicine will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering key education work streams across the North West Maternal Medicine Network (NW MMN). This includes the ongoing development, management, and implementation of professional development programmes, including study days and webinars across all maternal medicine disease areas.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and develop educational programs for midwives in collaboration with education teams and universities.
  • Establish mechanisms to track compliance with professional development and coordinate training initiatives within the NW MMN.
  • Support the creation of a learning environment, encourage skill development among Maternal Medicine professionals, and maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge for effective teaching and mentoring.
Key Requirements
  • Postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Registered midwife with a recognized teaching/assessing qualification.
  • Experience of managing and leading a team, providing training, and clinical audit and standard setting.
  • Knowledge of care pathways for women with complex health needs and awareness of current issues in midwifery.
