Role Overview:

The Executive Practice Leader will be responsible for driving market advocacy and strategy for Northern Trust's Global Family Office (GFO) expansion, contributing to client growth and retention. This role will require executive-level interaction with internal stakeholders, as well as external senior interaction with key industry bodies, regulators, and centers of influence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a growth strategy for Northern Trust's GFO, leveraging expertise in investment, client-facing, and business development.
  • Lead a small team, providing guidance and support to ensure successful execution of business objectives.
  • Collaborate with international distribution, product, and investment teams to develop market presence and generate new revenue streams.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication.
  • Make staffing decisions, manage expenses, and salary review processes for the division.

Requirements:

  • Leadership and organizational skills to determine business unit goals, resourcing needs, and ability to marshal cross-functional teams.
  • In-depth GFO functional/industry knowledge with tangible experience leading a GFO practice, working in or advising a family office, or related experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.
  • Ability to influence and manage stakeholders externally/commercially and internally.
