The East Lancashire Alliance is a values-driven, not-for-profit provider of innovative healthcare across East Lancashire. Our organization is led by a Clinical Board and has been providing excellent quality care to patients since its inception.
We are seeking a newly qualified General Practitioner to join our team on a fixed-term salaried contract. The post-holder will manage and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, within the Hyndburn Central Primary Care Network Area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems, screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness, and developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols.
Main Responsibilities
- Assessing patients' healthcare needs and developing care plans.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Providing counselling and health education to patients.
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
- Prescribing in accordance with the Lancashire Medicines Management Board prescribing formulary.
About the Role
The East Lancashire Alliance is a network of 9 PCNs covering 48 GP practices, serving a population of over 390,000 patients across East Lancashire. Our team is passionate about providing the best quality care for patients in our Place, for the betterment of our system.
Requirements
- Experience of working in urgent care and/or a primary care environment.
- Evidence of working autonomously, with some support and supervision.
- Knowledge of Quality and Outcomes Framework.
- Knowledge of public health issues in the local area.
- Awareness of issues within the wider health arena.
