**Engagement Officer**

We are seeking an Engagement Officer to join our team in the Kimberley Region. As an Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for building relationships with First Nations communities, service providers, and other stakeholders, and providing administrative support to the Engagement Assistant Director and sub-regional teams.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and histories, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Agency:

The UM for National Indigenous Australians Agency works closely with First Nations communities, service providers, and other stakeholders to deliver outcomes in line with community aspirations on behalf of the Australian Government.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain relationships with First Nations communities, service providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support to the Engagement Assistant Director and sub-regional teams.
  • Participate in the development of programs and policies that support the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Contribute to the delivery of engagement activities across the Kimberley Region.

Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., social work, indigenous studies, public administration).
  • High-level cultural competency and ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight stays, and possess a current Driver's License.

Salary:** **$85,633 - $91,549**

This is a permanent position based in the Kimberley Region. We offer flexible working arrangements, temporary housing assistance, and a supportive work environment.
