HSSE Officer

JLL is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSSE) Officer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for deploying and supporting the JLL WD health, safety, and environmental risk management strategy. This will involve proactively monitoring HSSE matters on a client account and ensuring compliance with JLL, cultural, client, and statutory requirements in operations on client sites in the UK.
The HSSE Officer will be a visible onsite safety presence, addressing unsafe behaviors and conditions, and promoting a culture of positive health and safety awareness among employees and contractors. Key responsibilities include conducting site audits, supporting the investigation of reported incidents, and ensuring suitable and sufficient risk assessments are in place.
The ideal candidate will possess IOSH Managing Safely certification, with NEBOSH Certificate and Manual Handling trainer qualifications being desirable. Facilities Management experience is preferred, and a behavioral safety approach is essential. A team player with a can-do attitude and open communicative style is required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct site audits to ensure compliance with Internal Management System.
- Promote a culture of positive health and safety awareness to employees and contractors.
- Be a visible onsite safety presence to address unsafe behaviors and conditions.
- Support the site facilities teams by providing on-site HSSE guidance.
- Support the investigation of any reported incidents.
- Ensure suitable and sufficient Risk Assessments are in place and trained out.
- Review the documented Safe Systems of Work to ensure they are suitable and being followed by all site teams.
- Ensure records are retained to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
- Ensure that all services and activities are provided in accordance with current legislation/client guidelines and Company process and policy.
- Continually look for and suggest ways to improve the service provided to the wider business.
- Authority to stop work in progress if deemed unsafe.
- Identification of HSSE risks and suitable corrective actions.
- Demonstrate the JLL Core Values within the business at all times.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- IOSH Managing Safely
- NEBOSH Certificate (desired)
- Manual Handling trainer (desired)
- Facilities Management based experience (preferred)
- Demonstrate an open communicative style, down to earth approach.
- Behavioural Safety approach rather than rules based (supportive not punishing)
