We are currently recruiting for a HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environmental) Officer to join our team in Derby, UK.

The HSSE Officer will be responsible for deploying and supporting the JLL WD health, safety and environmental risk management strategy. The role will be dedicated to proactively monitoring HSSE matters on a client account.

The main function will be to enable the account to comply with JLL, cultural, client and statutory requirements in its operations on client sites in the UK.

The HSSE Officer will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that national sites operate in accordance with our management systems and applicable regulations.
  • Promoting a culture of positive health and safety awareness to employees and contractors.
  • Being a visible onsite safety presence to address unsafe behaviors and unsafe conditions.
  • Supporting the site facilities teams by providing on-site HSSE guidance.
  • Supporting the investigation of any reported incidents.
  • Ensuring suitable and sufficient Risk Assessments are in place and trained out.
  • Reviewing the documented Safe Systems of Work to ensure they are suitable and being followed by all site teams.
  • Ensuring records are retained to demonstrate regulatory compliance.
  • Ensuring that all services and activities are provided in accordance with current legislation/client guidelines and Company process and policy.
  • Continually looking for and suggesting ways we can improve the service we provide to the wider business.
  • Authority to stop work in progress if deemed unsafe.
  • Identification of HSSE risks and suitable corrective actions.
  • Demonstrating the JLL Core Values within the business at all times.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • IOSH Managing Safely
  • NEBOSH Certificate (desired)
  • Manual Handling trainer (desired)
  • Facilities Management based experience (preferred)
  • Demonstrating an open communicative style, down to earth approach.
  • Behavioural Safety approach rather than rules based (supportive not punishing)
  • Team player with a Can-Do attitude. Here to help resolve any HSSE concern.
