Job Title: Technical Manager - Product Quality and Safety

Brakes is seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our team on a 12-month fixed term contract. As a Technical Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of product quality, safety, legality, and integrity for a defined portfolio of suppliers and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the procurement and category team on supplier selection, product quality attributes, and control parameters.
  • Manage supplier relationships, conduct site audits, and set clear technical expectations.
  • Maintain the approved supplier database, complete due diligence audits, and ensure reports are documented.
  • Generate and approve own brand artwork, and instigate product risk management action plans.
  • Monitor complaint trends, analyze root causes, and work with suppliers to support annual KPIs.
  • Develop and implement a robust quality assessment program for product ranges.
Requirements:
  • Technical background with a relevant degree in Food Science or Technology.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with a high attention to detail.
  • Desirable: Lead assessor qualification and supplier and product management experience.
