Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Manager to join our team at Brakes, a leading foodservice company. As a Technical Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, safety, and legality of our products.

The successful candidate will work closely with our procurement and category teams to provide technical support and expertise in supplier selection, product quality attributes, and control parameters. You will be responsible for conducting site audits, setting clear technical expectations, and providing guidance and support to suppliers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical support and guidance to the procurement and category teams
  • Conducting site audits and ensuring compliance with technical expectations
  • Maintaining the approved supplier database and completing due diligence audits
  • Generating and approving own brand artwork
  • Instigating product risk management action plans and developing awareness of emerging issues
  • Monitoring and analyzing complaint trends and root cause analysis
  • Delivering innovative technical solutions to add value to the business

About You:

We are looking for a candidate with a technical background and a full understanding of food science and technology. You will have excellent communication skills, be customer-focused, and have strong organizational and project management skills. A lead assessor qualification and supplier and product management experience are highly desirable.
