About the Role

The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of Fire Safety Products and ensuring the quality of current fire detection products. This role involves reviewing building control consultations for simple, complex, and fire-engineered design submissions. The Technical Manager will provide support and guidance to the business while offering customer support remotely and conducting site visits where our products have been installed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop new Fire Detectors and associated ancillaries.
  • Resolve problems at the root cause and manage the engineering change process.
  • Support the product team in maintaining and ensuring safety and quality.
  • Proactively identify continuous improvements of our products.
  • Work with the current team to identify knowledge gaps in products and legislation and provide training.
  • Provide on-site support to customers facing issues and offer CPD training where required.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in the residential fire industry.
  • Degree or equivalent in Design Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of fire legislation in England and Scotland.
  • Experience in manufacturing fire detection equipment.
  • Problem-solving tool knowledge.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Experience working in the fire industry at a technical level.
  • Self-motivation, ability to work well with others, and achieve deadlines and targets independently.
  • Ability to present to large groups of people.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and simplify complex information.
