Job Description for Functional Skills Tutor

This is a permanent role for a Functional Skills Tutor, working with English and Mathematics learners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver face-to-face lessons for learners up to level 2 for both English and Mathematics
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs
  • Manage a caseload of 12 learners in a classroom environment
  • Work with learners in a men's prison, providing support for qualifications and transition into society
  • Collaborate with prison guards and other support staff to ensure a safe and productive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Teacher qualification
  • Experience in delivering English and mathematics to adult learners
