About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at SoundSkool. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special or Additional Educational Needs (S/AEN) and/or Social, Emotional, Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class and 1-2-1 assistance to students aged 16-18 with S/AEN and/or SEMH needs.
  • Support the delivery of a structured and relevant music curriculum through differentiated or supported lesson plans and activities.
  • Assist students in developing their music performance and production skills to industry standard.
  • Work closely with teachers to develop intervention plans and prepare for lessons.
  • Attend tutorials and assist in setting developmental and progression targets with assigned students.
  • Build rapport and learning relationships to ensure students' emotional and social needs are met.
  • Monitor student attendance and punctuality and assist in re-engaging students with college.

Requirements:

  • GCSE Mathematics and English, Grade C or above.
  • Commitment to completing a Level 2 and L3 Teaching Assistant Qualification.
  • Previous experience working with young people.
  • Skilled in Music Performance and Music Production.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills.
  • Outstanding communication, interaction, and rapport-building skills.
