Music Educator

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Music Performance Teacher to join our team at SoundSkool. As a Music Performance Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering a structured and relevant music curriculum to learners aged 16-18 across Level 2 and Level 3 RockSchool Diplomas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver engaging and industry-relevant music lessons to students
- Work closely with the Head of College and other Teachers to develop the music curriculum, including schemes of work, assessment materials, and lesson plans
- Plan and deliver exciting and outstanding teaching and learning experiences, making full use of our facilities and industry partnerships
- Support students in achieving their musical goals and developing their performance and business skills to industry standard
- Hold regular tutorials and set developmental and progression targets with assigned Tutor Groups
- Play an active pastoral role as a SoundSkool Learning Manager/Tutor to ensure students' emotional and social needs are met
- Lead on the planning, organisation, and delivery of student-led showcases
- Regularly collect data to evidence student progress and engage with target setting, monitoring, and interventions
- Utilise available data and contextual information to inform practice and improve teaching and learning
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Music or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status, PGCE, or Teaching Diploma Level 5
- Experience of writing schemes of work and delivering outstanding teaching and learning experiences
- Excellent organisation and planning skills, with the ability to interact and present effectively with students and staff
- Skilled performer with the ability to teach musicianship, music theory, and music practice
- Secondary instrument skills (guitar, keyboards, drums, vocals)
- Ability to implement a student culture of high expectations and achievement
- Ability to coach and support students individually and in groups
- Previous Tutor/Mentoring experience
- Skilled in the use of college MIS and IT technology
- Ability to use data and contextual information to inform practice
