Job Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Rail Engineering Projects Testing and Commissioning Team. As a Performance Test Engineer, you will play a vital role in shaping our exciting projects and contributing to the development of our team.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, from simple to complex signalling schemes. You will be responsible for carrying out the basics testing of projects, working closely with the Testing and Commissioning Engineer (Principles) and other team members. You will also be required to work unsocial hours and may need to lodge away for extended periods of time.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out the basics testing of projects, including railway signalling testing and commissioning.
  • Work closely with the Testing and Commissioning Engineer (Principles) and other team members to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Identify resource requirements for projects and ensure that competent staff are utilized.
  • Encourage and promote the advancement of staff as a route to self-development.
  • Deputise for the Senior Testing Engineer (Principles) as required.
  • Ensure adherence to AtkinsRéalis rail standards, procedures, and processes.
  • Co-operate with quality, safety, and environmental objectives and contribute to AtkinsRéalis rail commitment for continual improvement.


Requirements:

  • Experience in railway signalling testing and commissioning of any size of projects.
  • Knowledge of Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook.
  • Thorough and detailed knowledge of fundamentals testing requirements.
  • A1 IRSE assessor for Principles Testing (desirable).
  • Railway signalling experience, especially in Principles of signalling testing of SSI schemes and ideally with conventional free-wired and/or geographical systems.
  • Able to work under pressure during intense periods of commissioning.
  • Current driving licence.
  • Able to deputise for the Senior Principles Testing Engineer.
  • Willing to work flexibly and efficiently in support of the project.
