Job Title: Test Engineer

Job Summary:

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Test Engineer to join our team in Edinburgh. As a Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development and testing of complex radar and avionics systems for the aerospace and defence industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute test plans for system-level products and sub-assemblies
  • Perform fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of complex electrical and RF systems
  • Conduct RF testing and analysis
  • Identify and pursue solutions to shortcomings in test equipment, test methods, and test documentation
  • Interpret and adhere to test specifications
  • Interpret technical drawings and circuit diagrams
  • Electrical safety testing and product acceptance testing
  • Vibration and thermal testing
  • Maintain effective communication with project, quality, and engineering functions

Requirements:

  • HND or above in system, electrical, or RF engineering
  • Understanding of electrical motors, gimbals, and RF technology
  • Good understanding of measurement and test principles and equipment
  • Experience with focusing cameras and optics and their effects at system level
  • Understanding of safety precautions required when integrating or aligning electro-mechanical devices
  • Applying statistical process control (SPC) for fault/trend diagnosis within a production environment
