Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our Rail Engineering Projects Testing and Commissioning Team as a Performance Test Engineer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the basics testing of projects of all types, sizes, and complexities, working under pressure and using initiative within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake testing duties within the scope of Certificate of Competency held.
  • Represent Atkins at Client meetings.
  • Identify resource requirements for your projects and ensure competent staff are utilized.
  • Deputise for the Senior Testing Engineer (Principles).
  • Manage Principles testing activities as part of a commissioning of signalling equipment to meet contract specifications, performance, and safety parameters.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Railway Signalling Testing/Commissioning of any size of Projects.
  • Concepts and Functional Tester IRSE Licence.
  • Knowledge of Network Rail Signal Works Testing Handbook.
  • Thorough and detailed knowledge of fundamentals testing requirements.
  • A1 IRSE assessor for Principles Testing (desirable).
  • Railway Signalling experience especially in Principles of signalling testing of SSI schemes and ideally with conventional free-wired and/or geographical systems.
  • Good knowledge of Railway Group NWR company standards requirements.
  • Good personnel management and communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure during intense periods of commissioning etc.
  • Current Driving Licence.
