The Role

This exciting opportunity is focused on implementing cross-departmental trials at our production site, Pepperness, near Sandwich, Kent. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with our Head of Crop Optimization and Farm Trials Coordinator to deliver world-class applied research and development in the field of vertical farming.

You'll be responsible for setting up trial resources, collecting data, maintaining scientific equipment, and working collaboratively with our grower manager, agronomy team, NPD team, operations, and technical teams to ensure efficient delivery of trials in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Requirements
  • Experience working in commercial horticultural or food science R&D, technical or trials teams.
  • BSc or above in horticulture, agriculture, or food science, or an advanced technical diploma in horticulture or equivalent with experience.
  • Knowledge of operational components of commercial plant and food production environments.
  • Confidence in working with various machinery and equipment, and ability to work safely according to relevant SOPs and risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with MS Office 365 programs.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Comfortable with manual handling and physical work.
  • Calm and patient manner, flexible mindset, and ability to negotiate competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
