The Role

We're seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Farm Trials Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our agronomy team, you'll be responsible for implementing cross-departmental trials at our production site, working closely with our grower manager and technical teams to ensure efficient delivery of trials.

Key responsibilities will include setting up trial resources, collecting data, maintaining scientific equipment, and collaborating with our team to address defects and non-conformities. You'll also have the opportunity to work on various projects, including proof-of-concept, variety, and post-harvest trials.

Requirements
  • Experience in commercial horticultural or food science R&D, technical or trials teams
  • BSc or above in horticulture, agriculture, or food science, or an advanced technical diploma in horticulture or equivalent
  • Knowledge of operational components of commercial plant and food production environments
  • Confidence in working with various machinery and equipment, and ability to work safely according to SOPs and risk assessments
  • Familiarity with MS Office 365 programs
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new situations
  • Comfortable with manual handling and physical work
  • Calm and patient manner, with a flexible mindset and ability to negotiate competing demands
