Job Title: Generator Field Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled Generator Field Service Technician to join our team at IPS. As a Generator Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining diesel and gas engine driven standby generators for our residential, commercial, and industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks, including oil and filter changes, spark plug replacement, and visual inspections of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of generators to identify potential issues and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Clean and test generators to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with generators, including alternators, wiring harnesses, switches, switchgear, battery systems, and engines.
  • Commission and start up new generators, including design review, testing, and switchgear programming.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from a technical school or equivalent experience in generator repair and maintenance.
  • Some experience in repair or maintenance of generators preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, operating manuals, and safety guidelines.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a DOT medical certification.
