About the Role
The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Cardiac Surgeon to join our expanding aortic programme. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality adult cardiac services, including approximately 900-1,000 cases per annum and thoracic workload of up to 500 cases per annum.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide a service in Cardiothoracic Surgery with responsibility for adult cardiac surgery, working in conjunction with Consultant and Senior colleagues.
- Participate in the out-of-hours On-Call service for the department, providing telephone advice and support for major incidents.
- Provide cover for Consultant and Senior colleagues during periods of leave, ensuring continuity of care for patients.
- Contribute to medical audit and research, working collaboratively with Consultant and Senior colleagues.
- Ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met, working closely with Consultant and Senior colleagues.
- Develop and implement new ways of working, in line with modernisation principles and fit for the future, in conjunction with the Divisional Manager and Consultant & Senior colleagues.
