Director of Clinical Operations and Practice Management

This is a leadership role that is a part of the MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization administration team, working closely with the senior director, medical directors, and all practice leaders. The position is responsible for providing leadership to the registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, medical assistants, and all non-provider clinical staff within the organization; assuring safe and quality patient care; encouraging professional growth and development; promoting teamwork and collaboration; oversight of compliance with regulatory agencies such as The Joint Commission and state requirements; and supporting practice operations and management efficiently in regard to patient care, clinical competence, and financial responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the clinical operations team, ensuring alignment with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Quality and Safety: Ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care, adhering to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective collaboration and communication among clinical staff, practice leaders, and other stakeholders to achieve organizational objectives.
- Regulatory Compliance: Oversee compliance with regulatory agencies, such as The Joint Commission and state requirements, to ensure the organization's adherence to industry standards.
- Business Development: Identify opportunities for business growth and development, working closely with practice leaders and other stakeholders to implement strategic initiatives.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing required
- License/Certifications: Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine
- Experience: Minimum of three (3) years' experience in outpatient practice or ambulatory care setting; demonstrated leadership experience
- Working knowledge of The Joint Commission Standards and state regulations
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask efficiently for self and others
- Basic computer knowledge and experience with an electronic medical record (EMR)
MaineHealth policy requires all care team members to be vaccinated, including for Covid-19 and influenza, subject to eligibility for medical or religious exemptions which can only be granted in compliance with applicable law.
