Job Summary:

The Deputy Community Leader will play a pivotal role in the pastoral care of Companions at Emmaus Sheffield, ensuring the smooth operation of the Community in accordance with all organisational policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide cover for the Community Leader in their absence, maintaining Community discipline and cohesion in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Be the first point of contact for referral applications and enquiries.
  • Complete initial needs assessments and ongoing risk assessments.
  • Develop and implement Companion Personal Development and Structured Support Plans.
  • Liaise with partnership agencies, drug workers, referral agencies, doctors, mental health services, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct new arrival inductions, providing relevant information about Emmaus Sheffield, including room licence and conduct agreements.

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable people with complex needs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to develop strong relationships.
  • Commitment to helping those in our care.
