About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Thoracic Surgeon to join our team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality Consultant Thoracic Surgery services, ensuring good standards of practice and care, and actively participating in audit and research activities. The role involves working closely with other specialties, departments, and outside agencies to deliver the objectives of the Clinical Management Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Consultant Thoracic Surgery services at University Hospitals of Leicester, including theatre operating sessions, ward rounds, and peripheral clinics.
  • Ensure the provision of good standards of practice and care, adhering to GMC Guidance 'Duties of a Doctor'.
  • Participate in audit and research activities, contributing to the development of innovative surgical practices.
  • Work closely with other specialties, departments, and outside agencies to deliver the objectives of the Clinical Management Group.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must possess:

  • MB BS or Equivalent Higher degree: MD, PhD or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration
  • FRCS or Equivalent
  • Fully Accredited for Higher Specialist Training or eligible for inclusion on the Specialist Register within 6 months of the interview date
