Main Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering Oxfordshire's Lung Cancer Screening Programme, providing high-profile, accessible, and responsive leadership with clinical, staff, and service responsibility.

Key duties include day-to-day management of the TLHC service, including assessment process, service improvement initiatives, implementation, and evaluation of local and national programme standards and service protocols.

Clinical Practice

The Clinical Lead will work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team to provide the TLHC service, providing the highest standard of nursing care to patients.

Responsibilities include taking responsibility for the clinical care of patients, providing comprehensive assessment, planning, evaluation, and support skills in all aspects of TLHC, and following up on patients as per the TLHC programme.

The successful candidate will also develop advanced clinical skills relevant to TLHC, provide individualised advice, education, and support to patients and their carers, and ensure that ordering of supplies and equipment for the TLHC service is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Leadership and Management

The Clinical Lead will facilitate innovative and evidence-based nursing practice through professional leadership and direction of the clinical team, act as a credible and professional role model, and encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally.

The successful candidate will also be able to make informed decisions within their own area and scope of professional practice, involving patients and public to ensure agreed standards, objectives, and targets are met.

Requirements

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to work at level 7 and 8 (expert) within the RCN Pain KSF for the Nursing Team and contribute to the Trust's strategy in conjunction with the service Leads.
