Nursery Deputy Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nursery Deputy Manager to join our team at TeacherActive. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the nursery, supporting the Manager and covering their absence when needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Manager in the day-to-day running of the nursery, ensuring a safe and secure environment for children.
  • Lead a team of staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality childcare services.
  • Develop and implement a stimulating and varied program of play and learning opportunities, aligned with the EYFS framework.
  • Monitor and assess the quality of provision, ensuring policies and procedures are maintained and best practice is followed.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates and feedback.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Level 3 Childcare qualification or above (such as NVQ Level 3 in CCLD, Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young People's Workforce).
  • At least 2 years of experience in a nursery setting, with a proven track record of leadership and management.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework and CIWW policies and regulations.
  • Ability to work well within a team, using initiative and good communication skills.
Working Hours and Salary:

The successful candidate will work up to 40 hours per week, with shift patterns from 7:30am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. The salary for this role is £25,000 per annum, paid on a PAYE basis.
