Job Overview:

We are Cambridge University Press & Assessment, a world-leading academic publisher and assessment organisation. We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as a Content Team Lead in our Academic division.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 7–10 Senior Content Managers and Content Managers, ensuring their training, development, and performance align with our goals.
  • Oversee the production of 250–450 titles annually, playing a pivotal role in delivering high-quality academic books in print and digital formats.
  • Drive team performance through effective line management, workload balancing, and ongoing training.
  • Act as the main liaison for authors, editors, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and timely delivery of projects.

About the Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for an experienced, motivated leader with a passion for delivering exceptional results in academic publishing. You will bring to this role:

  • Proven line management experience, including performance reviews, team development, and workload management.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of publishing workflows, particularly in academic or professional book production.
  • Financial acumen, including budgeting and cost control, with experience managing significant project spend.
