About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dual Diagnosis Nurse to join our team at Change Grow Live. As a Dual Diagnosis Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to individuals with complex mental health and substance misuse needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake comprehensive physical and mental health assessments for individuals accessing our services, ensuring appropriate signposting and referral to primary and secondary healthcare services as needed.
  • Provide education, health promotion, and screening for blood-borne viruses, including Hepatitis B vaccinations when indicated.
  • Contribute to our Naloxone Strategy by training staff and service users in the use of Naloxone, ensuring its distribution to service users at every opportunity.
  • Develop therapeutic alliances with individuals with substance misuse problems, fostering effective partnerships and promoting recovery.
  • Ensure procedures are regularly reviewed to promote best practice and evidence-based care, aligning with UK guidelines and CGL clinical protocols.
  • Provide harm reduction advice to injecting service users, offering information and equipment, and ensuring safe disposal of equipment.
  • Record and input client data and information to meet contractual, administrative, and financial requirements.

About You:

To thrive in this role, we are looking for someone with:

  • A first-level registered nurse qualification and recent relevant post-qualification experience, with a current PIN.
  • Relevant recent experience working within drug and alcohol treatment, although this is not essential.
  • Sound knowledge of harm reduction and health promotion interventions.
  • Ability to assess and recovery plan service users, formulating written reports as necessary.
  • Clinical auditing skills to inform service evaluation and identify areas for development.
  • A professional, empathetic, and non-judgmental attitude towards service users and stakeholders.
  • An understanding of professional integrity in relationships with service users, peers, and other professionals.
