Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist - Dual Diagnosis

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist clinical interventions to individuals accessing our services. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing joint working protocols with mental health services and substance misuse services, ensuring seamless care coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide case management for identified dual diagnosis service users, ensuring comprehensive support and care.
  • Undertake specialist mental health assessments, identifying gaps in dual diagnosis provision and informing future pathway and service design.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design and deliver community opioid and alcohol detoxification plans, utilizing a care-coordinated approach to service user care.
  • Provide harm reduction advice, information, and equipment to injecting individuals, ensuring safe disposal of equipment.
  • Contribute to risk management plans, utilizing prevention techniques to reduce substance misuse-related harm.
Requirements:
  • Registered Mental Health/Substance Misuse Nurse with a strong clinical background.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Knowledge of dual diagnosis, mental health, and substance misuse, with a commitment to evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
