Senior Housing Benefit Appeals Officer

At Essential Employment, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Housing Benefit Appeals Officer to join our team. As a key member of our financial assessment service, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the provision of high-quality services to our most vulnerable residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a team delivering financial assistance to approximately 21,000 households, representing 1 in 5 of the most vulnerable residents in the Borough.
- Contribute to the provision of a high-performing customer-centred financial assessment service, achieving maximum CPA and contributing to the Use of Resources Assessment and the Council's overall CPA score.
- Ensure the service meets its maximum potential, delivering effective services and financial assistance to our residents.
Requirements:
- Extensive and recent experience in submitting Housing Benefit Appeals and attending/presenting hearings at tribunals.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, residents, and external stakeholders.
