About the Role

Chester Central Primary Care Network (PCN) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our team. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a key role in supporting the prescribing teams and working alongside a diverse range of patients from different cultural and social backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Undertake clinical audits of prescribing areas and provide feedback to the Doctors.
  • Support public health campaigns and provide specialist knowledge on public health programmes.
  • Ensure practices are compliant with CQC standards where medicine is involved.
  • Contribute to the workplace vision and demonstrate an understanding of the pharmacy role in governance.
  • Provide educational and training to practices on therapeutics and medicines optimisation.
  • Identify national and local policy and guidance that affects patient safety through the use of medicines.
  • Implement changes to medicines that result from MHRA alerts, product withdrawal and local and national guidance.

Person Specification

  • Essential: Degree in pharmacy, MPharm/BPharm GPHC registered, Independent prescriber qualification, Minimum of two years post-graduate experience.
  • Desirable: Member of the RPS, IP qualified or working towards an IP clinical diploma, CPPE qualification, Experience of working in a primary care setting.
