About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a reputable primary school in the Alton area. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized support to students, including 1:1 work for children with additional needs.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff to assist in planning and delivering lessons across various subjects.
  • Guarantee a safe and secure environment for students on school premises and during extracurricular activities.
  • Execute school policies as specified in official documents and as instructed by the Headteacher.
  • Positively represent the school within the wider community.
  • Keep sensitive information confidential as encountered during your duties.
  • Comply with the school's Equal Opportunities policy.
  • Follow the school's Health and Safety policy, ensuring proper procedures are adhered to during accidents or incidents.
  • Oversee and manage student behaviour throughout the school day, including during lunch and breaks.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working as an LSA or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
  • A passion for education and supporting students' academic and personal development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Patient, adaptable, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
  • Experience with SEN children is an asset.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
  • Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
